About Daddy Rabbit

Our lively performances blend classic rock and roll hits with vibrant rhythms, ensuring a fun-filled experience that keeps audiences coming back for more.Daddy Rabbit is a three-piece rock and roll/rockabilly band that got together in the Winter of 2013. They made their first record “Shake like a tree” in 2015, “Born to Rock and Roll” 2016, "Come on up!" 2018, and "Let's have a party" and "Rooster rock" in 2020. They'll be releasing "Steal some time" in 2024. Simple, basic and raw rock and roll composed of the same ingredients that went into the original rock and roll recipe. Namely, that special blend of blues and country that pops, spins and motors in a unique way that just makes you want to move. Robert Jacobs is on guitar, vocals and harmonica. Kasey Rajkovic is on drums and Josh Swearingen is on bass.

Daddy Rabbit celebrates the release of its newest album at Mac’s Restaurant & Nightclub on August 9

Musicby Emma J NelsonPosted on 08/08/2024

Daddy Rabbit, a Eugene-based ’50s-style rock ’n’ roll band, is premiering their newest album, Steal Some Time, with a CD Release Party at Mac’s Restaurant & Nightclub Friday, August 9. Daddy Rabbit — a trio made up of Robert Jacobs (guitar/vocals), Kasey Rajkovic (drums/vocals) and Josh Swearengin (bass/vocals) — plays a mix of ’50s-style rock, ballads, doo-wop and rockabilly. The party celebrates the release of the trio’s sixth album, which features 12 original tracks. Jacobs says that Daddy Rabbit’s work is made up of 70 percent covers and 30 percent originals, and the newest album features “the most ballads we’ve ever written.” Jacobs started Daddy Rabbit in 2013, but the three current members have only been playing together for the past two years. The name Daddy Rabbit comes from a nickname given to Jacobs by an old bandmate, he says. “It fits the style of music well.” That style, he says, is old school. “I don’t think anyone is doing this style of rock ’n’ roll at this time,” Jacobs says. Of Steal Some Time, Jacobs says, “it’s our best yet.”

We all went down the rabbit hole together 🐇 last night dancing with the Eugene band, Daddy Rabbit. My personal favorite last night, off their new CD titled "Stealin Some Time" was the track with the same name. The crowd literally sat up in their chairs as Robert Jacobs soulfully begged for a moment away with his love in his heartfelt lyrics. I appreciated the purposely placed backup vocals that accentuated the chorus of the tune. The first song, "House Rock" is a straight up Rockabilly track that gives us a real Gene Vincent vibe. The entire new CD, doesn't disappoint either, as Robert Jacobs shows off his ability to effortlessly write Rockabilly tracks that you can groove to. Guaranteed this CD will get played repeatedly. 💙 🎶 🎙️
